We are seeking a Team Lead Security Officer to support a professional corporate environment and help maintain a safe and secure workplace.

This role is second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with two consecutive days off during the week.

  • Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona DPS Guard Card license, unarmed or armed as applicable.

This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a customer facing corporate setting.

Starting salary for this role is $55,000 - $57,000 (eligible for overtime)

Job Description Summary

Providing a safe, secure environment for our workforce and visitors is essential at Nationwide. Our Security team monitors security needs and assist associates with security and safety-related issues. As a Lead Security Guard, you’ll monitor the activities of Corporate Security associates and contract security services as well as the security operations in specific buildings and area control centers. We’ll count on you to assist with the execution of all Corporate Security programs

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeps track of the activities of all security officers assigned to the shift in that location.

  • Reviews daily activity logs and is familiar with pending activities that might be passed along from previous shifts.

  • Observes the operations of all control rooms.

  • Detects emergencies and dispatches security resources to investigate and report.

  • Monitors the writing of reports of incidents which occur on shift.

  • Assists with the training of security forces in control room operation and site procedures.

  • Operates personal computer to access programs developed for security.

  • Maintains knowledge of all duties and responsibilities of Uniformed Security Officers.

  • Maintains current knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment and procedures.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Security Supervisor; this is an individual contributor role and may have the opportunity to serve as a team leader for assigned location/shift.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: High school studies. Technical studies in criminal justice, and/or completion of the Police Officer's Training School preferred.

Experience: Typically, three or more years in the private sector of the security industry.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Proven knowledge of corporate safety and security practices, procedures, equipment, firearms, and console operation. Have the ability to function in a team environment. Must have the ability to manage activities during emergencies. Strong verbal and written communication skills needed.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Must possess the physical ability to walk, run stoop, kneel, carry and lift in order to perform assigned duties. Must be available to work after standard office hours, weekends and holidays as needed for emergency situations and special event coverage.
