Your role as a Security Officer (Seasonal): 

You will be primarily responsible for patrolling the ballpark during shifts, ensuring a safe ballpark environment for guests and employees. This position is located in Peoria, AZ, and will last for the duration of Spring Training, on or about March 27, 2026.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:                            

  • Monitor and Control Access in the Padres Interior Complex (First Floor) utilizing Padres and MLB Spring Training Credential Board by:
    • Monitoring approved path of travel for escorted tours (Tier 1)
    • Assist the Padres PR Team in controlling media access in or around the Padres Clubhouse; adhering to published designated
    • Ensure Padres Front Office Staff without a working function in the area should not traverse through the interior complex
    • Monitor the Dining Room to ensure authorized individuals are accessing meals during assigned entry, times, eating locations
    • Ensure authorized Vendors remain in assigned areas outside of the Padres Clubhouse
  • Assist in monitoring player movements throughout the Peoria Sports Complex, including Padres Facilities, Practice Fields, and Players Parking Lots
  • Assist the Padres Travel Security Professionals with Player and VIP movement from Padres Facilities to/from home and away game locations
  • Assist in escorting or monitoring Padres Tier 2 Credentialed personnel through path of travel and/or assigned viewing location(s), to include conducting bag inspection and fan screening using a metal detector (walk-through or hand-wand)
  • As needed, assist the Padres Manager, Minor League Administration / Spring Training in Credential Distribution
  • As needed, assist the Padres Travel Security Professionals in monitoring and assigning personnel into proper On-Field Corrals
  • Report any suspicious activity to appropriate authorities
  • Regulate and control access to restricted and secure areas
  • Detect and resolve immediate safety and criminal issues; responds to the scene of an incident and acts as an emergency first responder if required
  • Conduct detailed internal investigations into incidents and provide detailed, objective reports for each shift or incident
  • Act as property first responder to alarms, medical calls, property damages, etc.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality on sensitive issues
  • Maintain accurate notes and log information as required; ensure that all pass-on information is communicated to the next shift
  • Complete all activity logs, incident reports, repair forms and other documents in a clear, concise and legible format in a timely, efficient manner
  • Greet all clients, employees, guests and vendors at the Peoria Sports Complex and Padres Spring Training Facility in a professional manner
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to strategically create positive publicity for the Club
  • Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:              

  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
  • Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Having previous experience working in large public assembly facilities is a plus but not necessary
  • Large event security experience is a plus but not necessary
  • Having completed courses in criminal justice or security training by recognized academy, school or organization is a plus but not necessary
  • Previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety experience a plus but not necessary
  • Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark, stand for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to ascend and descend stairs; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds; able to ride a bicycle for prolonged periods of time
  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check 

Pay and additional compensation:

Per the pay transparency law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $30.00. Part time, non-union employees are subject to the minimum wage and rates will increase accordingly.
