Part Time Campus Security Guard

• GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Security Guard is responsible for securing the school campus and personnel by patrolling the property and monitoring the CCTV. 

1. DUTIES OF THE JOB Those tasks preceded by an asterisk (*) are essential functions of the job  

1. Observe and monitor people’s behavior and recall details accurately.
2. Ensure all doors and gates are secured
3. Monitor assigned areas on campus including the student parking lot, high congregation areas, athletic facilities during events, student restroom areas, etc. 
4. Monitor and respond to student behavior in accordance with school’s policies. 
5. Guard against unauthorized persons or materials from entering campus
6. Respond to emergency incidents and security requests in alignment with the school’s Emergency Operations Plan and school policies. 
7. Contact appropriate internal and external parties in the event of an emergency 
8. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; reporting trespassers 
9. Complete logs and reports of emergencies, student behavior, etc.
10. Maintain relationship with local law enforcement
11. Member of the EOP team
12. Work flexible hours including evening and some weekends.
13. Periodically support facilities and maintenance staff as needed
14. Performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the principal.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS 

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Must be 25 years of age
3. Must be CPR and AED certified
4. Current Arizona Drivers License
5. Successfully pass a drug test
6. Provide IVP fingerprint card
7. Continued training on Emergency Management 
8. Minimum one year experience as a Security Guard, Police Officer, Military Police Officer or a related experience. 
9. Completed Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Conduct
10. Has a basic understanding of Roman Catholic teaching

1. Must be in good physical condition 
2. Must have initiative and problem solving skills; use good judgment in handling different personalities and emerging situations
3. Must have ability to observe and actively listen in assessing situations 
4. Must have proficiency in good communication skills with both children and adults
5. Must have a positive attitude in crisis situations
6. Exercise judgment and make decisions as to appropriate action under pressure in accordance with school policies. 
7. Use and properly care of emergency equipment
8. Demonstrates personal self-discipline, is adaptable and flexible in routine and unexpected situations
9. Has skills in communication, initiative, creativity and problem solving 
10. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child psychology 
11. Ability to work in a team setting
